Enhancing the Ability to Identify and Wisely Address Complex Conciliation Issues

This six-hour seminar sets forth new "best practices" for handling complex conciliation issues, with a special focus on power imbalances, abuse and trauma. This seminar was taught by Ken Sande, Allison Pickering and Darby Strickland.

This training qualifies for 6 hours of continuing education credit for Advanced and Certified RW Conciliators and Certified Christian Conciliators. This training addresses the following types of topics.

  • Trauma-Informed Mediation
  • Domestic Abuse
  • The Role of Spiritual Advisors and Advocates During Conciliation
  • Psychological Disorders
  • Preventing the Misuse of Confidentiality Clauses and NDA’s (Non-disclosure Agreements)
  • Conciliator Accountability: Certification, Feedback and Grievance Policies
  • Case Studies
  • Question and Answer Session with Panel of Experts
  • Several related topics will be covered during workshops during the main conference
Students who attended this seminar were required to read two books on power dynamics, abuse and trauma prior to this training.

Ken Sande

Trained as an engineer, lawyer, and mediator, Ken founded Peacemaker Ministries in 1982, where he conciliated hundreds of family, business, church, and legal conflicts, and guided the development of its global training program.
